Other Benefits:
comfort (wind only when we want it), lower energy bills, humidity control, huge learning opportunity on many levels
Maintenance Requirements:
we are interested to see how long the foam will remain stable on the exterior
My Motivation:
We wanted to renovate an old house rather than build something new because it is a profound form of recycling. This house needed a lot of love, and while we were dealing with all the finishes and systems, it was the right time to deal with the envelope and efficiency.
Advice:
Plan for the worst case scenario, even while you are looking for breaks of good luck.
