Description:
A solar system has to pay for itself in 5yrs or less to get approx 20yr return on your investment. The current system costs WITH government subsidies equate to > 12 years and without >16 years.
Maintenance Requirements:
The cells and electronics might be warranted for 25 years however almost ZERO of the suppliers or installers have 5 year histories let alone decades. Good luck getting any 'warranty service' from any of them beyond a few years.
Advice:
Pencil out the costs and benefits and compare them to other investments.
