What You Need to Know

Description:

The system consist of 44 420w panels. There are 3 sections of the roof that have panels. The Main section faces southeast with 18 panels. The North section faces the same direction and has 8 panels. The West section faces southwest and has 18 panels.

My Motivation:

My main motivation was to control my energy costs. Having solar insulates us from rate increases. The environmental benefit is also a great side benefit.

Advice:

There is no reason to hesitate. Get multiple bids, go with a reputable high quality installer.

Experience with Installer:

Blossom Solar was great to work with. They took care of everything from permits to installation to inspection and system commissioning. The process was painless for us and I would highly recommend them.

Additional Notes:

The house has a propane powered backup generator with an automatic transfer switch. The solar system is tied in to the main side of the generator transfer switch. This means during power outages the solar is turned off and the generator operates as the power source.
