What You Need to Know
Description:
The system works great when working, but should not be installed if you have any trees in the neighborhood. Squirrels are attracted to the system and will destroy it.
Maintenance Requirements:
In 1 1/2 years the system required a complete rewiring due to rodents.
My Motivation:
To produce my own electricity, increase the value of my home and benefit the environment.
Advice:
I wish that I had been advised about the known problems about rodents destroying the wiring. I was not informed about the known issue or installation of a critter guard that may or may not have helped. I would not have installed if I had been informed. Now I have a $50K system that is only squirrel lunch.
Experience with Installer:
The installation company was not honest about timing issues or response time for repairs. They tell you that they will call you in a few days to advise you of a future date that they can arrive. I regret not using a local company.
Additional Notes:
I wish the warranty was transferrable to another company.
