We’ve had an absolutely terrible experience with Sunnova. We spent a significant amount of money on our solar panels, and they haven’t worked for over 3 months, forcing us to pay outrageous energy bills to Xcel — over $400/month. I’ve reached out to Sunnova support 5+ times with zero resolution.
They finally sent someone out, only for the technician to leave the equipment exposed and unsafe, leaving wires uncovered. Since then, we haven’t heard a word. No follow-up, no accountability, nothing.
This company is highly unprofessional and completely unreliable. Save yourself the frustration and money. I would strongly advise against working with Sunnova.

Worst customer service you will ever have
It's not that they are rude or anything like that, but they are the most incompetent people you are ever going to have to deal with. It's almost like in their interview process they try to hire people that have no idea about how the systems or the process work. It's really a shame that I'm stuck with them because my builder chose them.

Customer service and warranty
Have been waiting for 2 1/2 months to get warranty work for my enphase system.Have called repeatedly and get same answer that there TEAM is waiting on parts. I have contacted installer and they have parts but have not heard from Sunnova. Very dishonest company and not worried about customer. Also been waiting for 6 weeks to have a supervisor call back.
Do not do business with this company.

We will not be going with your company for the fact that you boldly were trying to deceive us. Your shirt said Sun, and you referred to Sunrun. I looked you up on the internet and found that Sunrun and Sunnova are two separate companies. That explains why you never showed us any documentation. Please do not try to contact us again.

Inverter replacement
I was notified of the failure of the inverter for my solar panel system. I greatly appreciated this notification. However, the delivery of the inverter was returned to sender due to the fact I was provided any tracking documentation of the shipment, nor the fact that a signuture was required. I attempted to have the unit reshipped, but was never able to speak to a Sonnova employee. It took multiple attempts of responding to emails and texts I had received to get the unit resent. For the second delivery a signature was not required.
Sunnova was helpful in rescheduling the installation since my home was scheduled to close in a few days, so the solar system was fully operation al at the time of closing.
The installer was not able to make the initial scheduled day of service and I was not notified of this until 2 hours after the close of the service appointment, which was inconvenient. He was able to complete the installation the next day.
