Sunny Energy

The entire solar installation process went off without any issues. From start to finish everyone I worked with was incredibly friendly and never once made me feel dumb for the questions I had. They aren’t going to try and sell you stuff you don’t truly need either and finished the installation ahead of schedule. I would recommend Sunny Energy to anyone in a heartbeat. They were amazing.

My initial installation of solar went great. I knew they weren't the cheapest by far but I went with them by default because I thought I was getting a real professional installation. It was when I used them to add batteries and a few extra panels that things fell apart. The design had to be revised on the fly because the designer paid no attention to the layout of my garage, they had to come back because they didn't have what they needed to install. The communication was horrible, and they took months to complete the changes, leaving my solar power out the whole time. If I'd known it was going to be such a long process I would have done this in the winter when I wouldn't be paying hundreds of dollars for my cooling bills. They didn't tell me what was going on at all without me going through customer service and complaining and when they did the information I got was wrong most of the time. I couldn't get all my circuits I wanted transferred to the battery backup because they used a different kind of electrical box that was more sensitive than my main box and one of the circuits kept tripping. I would have rated this one star except for the fact that the installers who came onsite where so professional and knowledgeable. When I told Sunny Energy how much money they cost me they basically just said "sorry".

This solar project started out great. Felt well informed as to what was going to be done. The installation of solar system went as planned. The installation crew was great. But when it came to the upgrade for electrical panel that is where the communication ended. Was only informed that electrical panel was being upgraded. Not that the metal conduit the underground wires was in would be removed. Or that there would be a hole cut in the side of my home. When contacted Sunny Energy was informed it has passed inspection. That the underground wires are not required to be in conduit. I expressed my concerns about rodents chewing on the wires as have found the tunnels just feet from the wires. Sunny Energy informed me that putting the wires back in conduit was optional and would cost me thousands of dollars to do. I do not understand how they can remove the conduit that was there without informing me and having my permission. As I would never have given permission for that. It seems like the electrical panel was installed without any planning on what was the best fit for my home. They tried to make my home fit the electrical panel they brought. Now I have to try and find a way to protect the underground wires myself. Or when the rodents chew on the wires try to come up with the thousands of dollars to fix it. If I can not come up with the money to fix it then will forced to live without electricity. Also need to clean the siding that was under the previous panel caulk the old screw holes and paint. They put a piece of metal cut from the old electrical panel box to cover the hole they cut. This is not the situation I expected as am a senior female who does not believe I can survive a Phoenix AZ summer without power. As only did solar panels not a battery backup.

From start to finish Sunny Energy followed the plan and met all their commitments to install and commission my 10KW solar system. They clearly laid out what was expected of me (basically paperwork and payments) and what their responsibilities were (everything else). I delayed submitting this review so that I could ensure that there were no quality issues with the installation. 9-Months later everything is still humming along fine.

I was pleased with Sunny Energy and their work on my home. As a first time home buyer, getting solar was important to me and Sunny Energy helped me achieve that. The staff was easy to work with and they were accessible if I ever had a question as the process was in motion. They provided a nice overview of my system operation once the install was completed and helped to get me set up with the tools needed to track my solar production, right from my phone. In a world with inflation, it's nice to know that Sunny Energy is helping me save some green and help the earth at the same time.
