I heartily recommend Midwest Solar Power if you are interested in installing solar panels! From the very beginning until the end of the process, they consistently delivered prompt and accurate information, provided competitive pricing and beat their proposed schedule. The installed system has been operating for almost one month and is delivering most of the power we need for our residential usage, even in September. Barrett Lione-Seaton did an excellent job in surveying our roof and attic, making measurements of light intensity and then designing a system that optimized the power we could get with our non-optimal roof geometry and mature trees. He answered all of my many questions about the design, pricing and performance promptly and thoroughly. Once we accepted the bid, Tom Leja-Brennan took over as installation and commissioning project manager. Tom guided us through the permitting process and the electrical utility approval process, neither of which would have been easy without his help. The installation happened almost a month before the original schedule date because of that. Despite it being a somewhat rainy day, the installation crew of 5 got everything done in one day. They were professional, courteous and willing to talk with me about each step, including answering detailed questions that I was just curious about. I even got to chat with Tom, one of the co-owners of the company, who was filling in for his electrician on this project. They turned the system on briefly after installation, to commission it, explain the operation and put it on our network. Once the utility gave final approval, it was just a matter of flipping the switch, and then watching power get delivered on the phone app. We did get one other quote from a highly-rated solar panel installer, and their pricing was higher (for the same equipment) and their responses were much less professional. I am so glad we went with Midwest Solar Power. It really helps that they are local to the Madison area and invested in customer satisfaction. Do yourself a favor and talk with them before going with anyone else.

First off, I would encourage EVERYONE considering residential solar to work through the Energysage process. It was so helpful to work with my Enerysage adviser and get unbiased, expert advice from someone who's sole goal is to make sure I had a great experience with my solar project. We've been "on the fence" about rooftop solar for a few years, doing research, etc., and finally decided to go through with it in 2023. We received six bids from local providers in fall 2023. Our project ended up being delayed, because we started the quote process in fall and were hit with a crazy winter tornado and ended up needing a roof replacement. We worked with Energysage to then update and quotes six months later in the spring. Midwest solar had a great quote, top of the line equipment, so many good reviews, and was very responsive to my questions and concerns. There were no pushy sales, attempts to "upsell" or inflate production umbers, just straight forward explanations and prompt customer service. While working with Energysage, we ALSO received three additional quotes from other local providers that were recommended by people we knew. Midwest Solar was STILL the best quote, and Barrett took a great deal of time being patient and explaining everything with us, working through different design options, etc. The contract and agreements were all straightforward and relatively painless. They took care of all the paperwork, permits, rebate forms, etc. The installers and project mrg. Tom, were super friendly, and spent a great deal of time going over structural/roof load issues (we have 100+ year old house) and how to best refine the design to fit our older home. They did a great job with construction, right on schedule, and super friendly and professional, taking time to explain things and walk us through the various construction and electrical elements of the project. After completion, system test was 100%, and a few weeks later we received our permission to energize the system. So far, it's been performing amazingly, even getting a bit more power generation than we expected. Happy to definitely recommend Midwest Solar to anyone considering this option. For anyone considering solar, the equipment choice decision is VERY important, and that's another great benefit of working with Energysage. They know all these systems, the technical details, and are great at helping explain and compare options, as well as reliability and warrantees of the different manufacturers. Our system uses REC 420 panels and the Enphase combiner and inverters. The electrician from Midwest solar warned us that sometimes when Enphase pushes firmware updates at night, the inverters can stop responding. Our system is also connected via WiFi, and he suggested we would be better off if we could route ethernet cable to it, because connection issues can sometimes cause problems with the Enphase system. Well, this is exactly what happened to us, our internet went down, and we lost the connection with the combiner panel (it was still generating, we just lost communications). When you install a system and it goes online, Enphase sees the inverters are installed and pushes firmware updates. Ours got buggy a couple days into operation and we had a wifi connection issue. Tom from Midwest Solar was GREAT and reached out to Enphase and they got our system back up and running in only a couple hours. The Midwest Solar electrician had explained and showed me how to reset the WiFi connection, so I was able to follow his instructions and that was back online in just a few minutes. So, go ahead and take the time to route your ethernet cable BEFORE the installation crew gets there - it'll make your system more robust and life a lot easier.

Midwest Solar did an outstanding work. They were in constant communication, explained very clear expectations and showed up on time. Even offered to do some work in advance. There was only one situation where they forgot to mention an alternative, but when brought up they quickly adjusted and honored all the initial benefits and offers. Very professional team and system is working great! Fully recommend.

We chose Midwest Solar Power LLC after reviewing multiple quotes for our residential solar project. I desired a smaller company and their streamlined delivery as I had many questions and details I wanted in our solar installation. All my requests were accommodated. In addition, their install was quick with minimal/no-mess in the house or on our property.
