Solaria was founded in the early 2000s when the cost of silicon, the raw material for photovoltaics, was a dominant cost of a PV system. Over the next few years, Solaria assembled a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, with remarkable design ingenuity, to develop a sophisticated product and manufacturing process.

Solaria has developed a technology platform that unlocks the potential of solar energy allowing it to be ubiquitous and universally accessed. Solaria created one of the industry’s most respected IP portfolios, with over 100 patents encompassing materials, processes, applications, products, manufacturing automation and equipment.

Solaria’s first series of products, known as low-concentration-photovoltaics (LCPV), were fully tested, certified and productized, with over 30 megawatts installed in demanding, utility-grade, deployments around the world. Solaria became synonymous with field-tested, high quality, durable, high-performance LCPV combined with innovative solar tracking arrays.

When silicon costs dramatically declined, and solar panel production shifted towards China, Solaria stood the test of time and developed a unique way to leverage its knowledge and technology.

Solaria created NEXTracker, answering the growing market need for highly integrated and cost-effective tracking systems. Leveraging its depth and breadth in the system domain, NEXTracker was spun-out. Within a year, NEXTracker became the independent provider of tracking systems and grew one hundred fold. A year later, Flextronics acquired it for $335M, and it continues the same growth trajectory. Buoyed by its immense success, Solaria knew that in this new era of solar, it could pave the way for solar everywhere.

11 defective out of 26 panels so far in the first 5 years

I had a 26-panel Solaria system installed in 2019. Three years later, one of the panels started to underperform, producing only 70-75% of what the other panels in the same array were generating. The sales rep from the installer, WindFree, initiated a claim. It took three months to finally connect with someone from Solaria. By that time, another panel had begun exhibiting the same issue. After several more months, Solaria reviewed my system's production and confirmed the problem. They agreed to ship replacements. By the time they were ready to ship, two more panels had started having the same problem. Solaria decided to replace the first two panels before addressing the other two. Once the first two panels were replaced, they started producing normally. Solaria then sent replacements for the other two, which also started producing normally. However, the day the installers left after the last panel was replaced, another (fifth) panel started having the same problem. That was in the fall of 2023. I decided to wait and see if more panels would develop the defect. Now, in the summer of 2024, I have seven additional panels with the same problem. So far, after five years in production, 11 out of 26 panels have developed issues. Of course, now Solaria does not respond to emails anymore, and there is no way for me to contact them. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable brand with quality products. Solaria is not one of them. I regret trusting EnergySage and the information they provided when I was researching solar panels and installers. Neither lived up to the hype that was listed.

Happy 400W Panel Install

we Installed 17 400W panels last October (2021) at our house in Maine. Generating up to 48KWh on sunny days.Probably will see above 50KWh+ as we get further into summer. Power curve is smooth and panel output is balanced. No complaints so far, and flat black panels are very unobtrusive.

Fantastic Looking Panel

I absolutely love these panels. Very efficient, and the grid-less look of the flat black panel is absolutely beautiful. Not the cheapest panel, but if you want something that looks good on your house, I think it's a good value.

Perfect Combination of Quality, Performance & Beauty

Susten.energy has become a PRO-Partner certified installer for Solaria and our clients are very happy that we offer this product. Solaria uses a different manufacturing process on its modules, called "shingled cells", which is eliminates space between the silicon cells and results in a higher production output with a beautiful all-black look. Its Triple Warranty of 25 / 25 / 25 years (performance / product / labor) is the market's best and my customers definitely see the extra-value this product has. Very pleased with my purchase.

I looked at all of the top brands of panels and I was surprised that this company doesn’t have more reviews. I just had my system turned on and I am extremely pleased with the production. I did notice that one of the 20 panels I have, seemed to under produce compared to the rest of the panels. I did a bit of investigating and noticed it was due to something casting a shadow on it late in the day. I have twenty 360 watt panels and average 39-45 kWh on any given day. I am extremely happy with the numbers I’m getting. The panels themselves look great. They’re solid black and along with the equipment used by my installer, look flush against my roof. The panels are large however so be aware of that, but again - they look great.
