Finally

I am reversing my one star review to five stars. We had a rocky start with mis information and much confusion for the first eight months. In November of 2022 my data was lost when National Grid switched to Rhode Island Energy. This turned out to be a horror story. I was very disappointed in many os the staff at R.T.P. They would text me that Rhode Island Energy is looking into it and disappear. This really frustrated me. Each time I ended calling R.T.P and someone else would do the same. I have over a forty thousand dollars loan and wanted someone to stay on this to keep me reassured. Rhode Island Energy was terrible to deal with. I finally struck the right person from R.T.P. and his name is Parker. He talked to me almost an hour and reassured me that he is staying on my case until it's resolve and that he did the only one. This went on for over a year and wasn't going anywhere. He told me to contact the Public Utility Commission. This was the icing on the cake. My case was resolved in a few short weeks. Parker is an asset to this company and they are very lucky to have him and the reason for the five star review. Thank you Parker

Overall good experience

We had solar installed in Sept 2021. We had an issue with the location of the electrical conduit on the side of the house that was extremely unsightly. This happened because their electrician at the time didn’t bother to communicate any options to us, which they are supposed to do. After numerous attempts to reach someone and getting the run around for weeks by their coordinators and telling us we would have to pay out of pocket for their electrician’s lack of communication and laziness, we finally got to their project director and got the conduit corrected. Everything has been going great since. The installation crew (except for the electrician) were absolutely fantastic and very professional.

Untrustworthy and Unethical! I have written correspondence to prove it!

It shouldn't surprise me that this company has nearly all 5 star reviews, since they essentially bribe you with a $50 gift card to write one (and you don't receive the gift card until after they confirm you left a nice review). Beware of this shady company, as they promise you things like a $500 referral bonus for each referred installation, but it turns out they can change their minds and send you half that amount (or however much they feel like, without any explanation) if they feel they sold that system for less money than they had hoped. When I called them out on this, they pretended to apologize and admit they were wrong and promised to send me a check for the other half. Several emails and over a month later, I'm still waiting for the other half of my referral bonus. I have all the emails saved to prove this.

Great company

Sales rep Brian Hilario is excellent and knows everything about his job. The installation team of evan, Gerry, russ, sam and Dave were outstanding. Very professional and courteous. Everything explained in detail. Great experience and will definitely recommend.

RTP is UNTRUSTWORTHY & UNETHICAL!!!!!

* * * * * * * * * * * W A R N I N G * * * * * * * * * * * If you want to go solar that is awesome and I applaud you, but whatever you do, DO NOT CHOOSE Rooftop Power. RTP is an UNTRUSTWORTHY company! They do not deserve even one star! Our panels were installed early 2020 on a new roof. July 9, 2021, 4 leaks on the roof started under the panels. They sent out someone out who poorly sealed shingles together in trying to fix the leaks. August 5, 2021, 3 of the 4 leaks were back with an additional 2! It is now October and these leaks are still ongoing on top of there now being mold!!! All Rooftop Power has done is try to pass the buck and not honor their warranty! They have even gone to the extent of trying to convince us to commit insurance fraud with our own homeowner's insurance! Our insurance company gave us a list of reputable and trustworthy roofing experts. I personally went on the roof and was shown by the professionals the following: - When RTP put their Flashings from the solar installation under the shingles, they never sealed those shingles back once it was installed, on any of them. - The edges were sealed incorrectly by RTP when they came out on July 14, 2021. RTP sealed the shingles on the edge together. If you’re going to seal it, it needs to be sealed to the drip edge or starter strip. Sealing them together is detrimental to the shingles because they will not be able to expand and contract with the heat/cold. RTP should know this as they claim to be roofing experts. - There are also at least a dozen places where RTP missed the rafters during install, which are clearly visible in the attic. Seeing some of the same things that are consistent from one side(the side where the leaks are and the panels were removed by RTP) to the other(the side that still has panels on it), it is not only clear to me, but to the trusted professionals that came out, that the roof in its entirety needs to be replaced. Again, this is due to the poor installation of the panels and the horrid sealing job that was done by RTP. They are refusing to fully repair and remediate their mistakes! !!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM RTP !!!!!!

Mixed experience

I started with RTP in November of 2020. I got panels in March '21. It took until July '21 before they started generating power, and after 2 weeks they stopped. It is now Oct '21 and they came out in late September, and got all the panels producing, which was great. Everybody I have dealt with has been nice, and it seems like a good crew of people. However one of the PV Links went out almost immediately, and I am now producing 2/3 of what I could be. There seem to be technical issues with their supplier, I would ask them to tell you how those are going before signing up.
