updated 1 Year Solar Installation Anniversary Review

11/19/24, They finally came to adjust the misplaced panels! The repair was led by a very knowledgeable and very understanding person so thank you at last! Too bad their customer service is so difficult to deal with. 6/15/24: After one year I am still waiting for easily fixed issues by Infinity Energy (of NJ, https://thenewutility.com) It is understandable, especially in businesses that have remote work that quality and miscommunication issues may arise. A Contractor must be prepared to resolve these issues immediately. We all can accept that things happen. What is unacceptable is when a Contractor will not take responsibility and aggressive action to rectify an issue created by them. I brought to their attention immediately upon installation completion 2 issues: 1. Damage occurred to the ridge vent (crushed when either stepped on or a panel dragged across it) This is very important because of it visually looks like a dip in our roof, and the ventilation is not blocked anywhere along the ridge 2. That the panel Placement was not in the agreed upon design and production analysis result. This is very important because this disrupts optimum solar future expansion of the system on our roof without moving the array and will cause additional expense to us, And, also because it may be the reason why the System has only achieved 88.6% of its design output. Now let me state here that if only 90% of a guaranteed production is common then the consumer should be informed and not be making a decision from the offset presented, called a “guaranteed ouput”, no less! In my case, this calculates to a 2307 KWh deficit after 1 year which has significantly reduced the ROI from my projection determination that the Solar investment would be financially prudent. (By the way, there also is a production guarantee with Infinity but the small print reveals it kicks in after 4 years and coincidentally also 90% of design, and they will not fix but only compensate you for lost KWh at the installation date’s electric rate). Apparently, these important issues to me, nor a satisfied customer are not important to Infinity who responded slowly at first requesting documentation which I provided immediately and finally dismissed my repeated emails when I told them I would no longer argue with them, but also not recommend them. I repeatedly tried to resolve these issues with Customer Service reps, the Consultant, and Service at Infinity to no avail. Infinity Solar is invited to address these issues, resolve them, honor their installation guarantees, and receive a satisfied customer who will gladly refer them and reach out to them for future expansion and battery investment opportunities. Otherwise, this is not an Elite installer and I would not recommend this company that will not stand by their workmanship and proposal promises.

Mission Accomplished!

We are now running a carbon free home. Our all electric house is now fueled by the solar + storage system installed by Infinity Energy. Our consultant was Andy and he made the process easy to understand. We shopped around and Infinity and Andy were clearly the best choice for us. They delivered premium equipment, installed by master craftsmen at a fair price. We would highly recommend them as your solar partner.

Happy customer of Infinity Energy

My wife and I just reviewed our solar production and we are thrilled. I am a strong advocate for solar and Infinity Energy. Every time we call with questions the customer service team is courteous and responsive. We have been happy with Infinity before, during and after installation.

Be aware!

As a real customer, I decided to take a chance on Infinity Energy after reading their positive reviews, even though many of them felt generic. Unfortunately, my experience has been highly disappointing, and I want to provide insight into what you might encounter if you decide to do business with them. While each case may be unique, some of the issues I faced are likely to repeat even if your situation is straightforward. Contractual Missteps and Broken Promises 1. Misrepresentation in the Contract: The contract I signed on May 3 clearly stated that “ Infinity Energy will provide a full service change from a 3-phase system to a single phase system. The scope of work includes a new meter, main service panel and new feeder wiring. Con Edison has approved this conversion “ Yet, by October 31, when the system still wasn’t functioning, their excuse was, “The utility… they are being very picky with everything. Hopefully, we’ll have answers early next week.” 2. Contradictions with Con Edison: On November 12, Con Edison informed me that the case related to my property had been closed due to inactivity from Infinity Energy—a process that requires at least three months of inaction. Additionally, Con Edison couldn’t read my meter after Infinity’s work, raising concerns about their competency. This leads to two possibilities: • Andy, their representative, made false statements to get me to sign the contract. • Andy had to cover up his team’s incompetence later. While Con Edison could be wrong, their actions—such as not charging me due to unreadable meters—suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, Infinity Energy collected payment from me in August, claiming the work was completed and the system would function. That assurance turned out to be false. Administrative and Installation Failures 1. Permit Delays: My town issued the building permit on May 30, yet throughout June, Infinity Energy repeatedly claimed they hadn’t received it. I had to personally contact the town and pick up the permit myself to prevent further delays. 2. Unprofessional Workmanship: When they installed my panel, they left shoe marks on many of the panels—an unnecessary display of carelessness. 3. Faulty System Readings: The Enphase app now shows absurd data, such as energy being produced under moonlight and negative energy consumption during the day. This likely indicates they installed the CT sensor incorrectly. Despite multiple requests since September, this issue remains unresolved. 4. Miscommunication: Infinity Energy has sent me emails containing information meant for other customers. While I hope this doesn’t happen to you, it reflects poorly on their internal processes. Final Thoughts Andy claims to be a man of his word. If that’s true, the only logical explanation for my experience is that the team behind him is utterly incompetent and focused on profit over performance. At the very least, if you know you haven’t completed the job, don’t take the money. Infinity Energy has not upheld this basic standard, and I can’t recommend them to anyone.

Great products and service

We recently decided to do solar energy in our home. Infinity came in with the best pricing and product. The professionalism from their sales and installation team was far beyond anything I expected. Great experience and I’m happy to go the renewable energy route with Infinity.

Totally professional, highly recommended!

Clear, regular communications throughout a large solar install; excellent workmanship; impressive warrantees and follow ups...We were relieved that this big-ticket upgrade to our home went so smoothly! Thanks to the many folks involved. The design was precise, but what made IE so good, in our opinion, was the careful customer service connection at every stage.
