I had a system installed 15 months ago by 8m solar. On Friday, January 10 around 6 pm after office hours, I noticed I had an issue and had no production from solar panels after noon of that day and I contacted 8m solar via a phone call message. By Monday morning, I received an email from 8m saying they had contacted Tesla about the issue. On Tuesday, they reached out to me to say it would be necessary to have a site visit to troubleshoot the problem and I said ok. Shortly thereafter, they contacted me and had an appointment scheduled for Thursday and a crew showed up to troubleshoot the system. By around mid day, I had one of 2 strings of solar producing and was told 8m would get back to me about the system. Today, less than a week after I let 8m know I had an issue, I was informed what they will need to do to get the other string operating and they are not being evasive about fixing the system. This company backs up their work and addresses issues quickly. This problem resulted from an issue with wire, not anything related to installation or components. If an electrician installs a ceiling light, he reasonably expects the coil of wire he uses will be reliable. I was worried a bit about service after install and payment with solar. 8M proved to me that I made the right choice. From problem existence to remediation, one phone call and less than one week

8msolar was by far the best value quote. They engineered a system that fully met my requirements and installed it as fast as the permitting process would allow. Their installation personnel did a fantastic job and thoroughly documented the installation photographically. They provided a completely turn-key system that works great.

8m gave me the lowest estimate and fulfilled every request or modification I needed to make even after I had already approved the stage I was needing to modify. ( I did notify them within a day that I had misjudged our agreed upon situation) They did not give me any grief even though I removed a Powerwall from my order which reduced their income They understood perfectly when I described why I did not feel comfortable with stacked Powerwall due to the location it would have been located. They completed the installation in one day rather than 2 by working later into the day than they had planned on. There was a bit of a problem after the system was updated during the evening of the install which resulted in the system only generating from half of the panels, but they identified where the problem was and fixed it within 2 business days. I was still able to run the house with the energy generated from my panels without having to draw from the grid for those days. (FWIW, my utility only pays 1/3 the rate for energy I send to them so for every unit I buy from them, I have to give them 3 back to break even). Also due to the fluctuations of my demand when various appliances cycle on and off, I do on average use about 3-4 KW of energy each day from the grid and while this system balances things by sending an equivalent amount back. I am essentially purchasing 2 KW per day. (I buy 3 KW for $.36 and they buy 3 KW from me for a total of $.12 so it costs me $.24 day multiplied by 30 days so essentially $7.20/month for the grid power.) I also have a $15 service fee plus tax which would make my $23.87 UNLESS I SELL MORE BACK TO THE UTILITY which I do. My average bill over 4 months has been about $16.50 but I will be making out the most during summer months which are coming soon. My system does generate electricity on most cloudy days and my panels and 2 Powerwalls have kept me not needing the grid essentially for all but 7 days over the past 5 months if we had a group of multiple days without adequate solar generation to keep me powered up. I wanted 3 Powerwalls but only could get 2. If I had 3 Powerwalls I probably would not have needed anyway. I do have EV that I can keep charged but the car would have to be at home. Powerwalls at night can not keep your car charged. One 13.5 kw Powerwall would only give me about 60 miles each day if I did not use them to keep the house electrified at night which I do. Solar gives me about 150 miles of charge each week but I do not drive every day. I would use 8m again. They are legitimate and have their own crews and their own office building in Raleigh and they already fixed a problem even after I had paid in full

I recently had the pleasure of working with 8M Solar to install solar panels on my property, and I am beyond impressed with the entire experience. Great care was taken to ensure that the installation functioned flawlessly and looked visually appealing. The wiring was also mostly invisible as they were routed through a pipe from the attic to the crawl space. Overall, I couldn't be happier choosing 8M for my solar panel installation. 8MSolar was nothing but professional, informative, and efficient. I wanted to get an interconnect form to Duke Energy before the net metering changes on October 1, and despite me waiting until September 13 to get that process started, they got the interconnect request done in time and the system was operational less than two months from signing paperwork. I never felt rushed or out of the loop, the sales process was informative but not pressured, the project manager kept me informed of my next steps and status at all times, and promptly answered any questions I had. The price was competitive, coming in well under the competition with as good as or better equipment and warranties. The system is working as designed, the install looks clean, and I feel confident that if I have any questions or issues down the road, 8MSolar will be happy to help.
