Pingo Solar

Pingo Solar appears to have gone out of business. I had solar installed in 2020 - it was good work at the time, but now our system is showing issues with dropping production. I reached out to get them to troubleshoot what was going on. I reached out by phone, and email to their main hello email as well as direct emails to to those involved with my projects - other than an answering service who took my information, there has been no response. Scott An's email bounced back immediately. Look elsewhere for a solar installer as these guys are done. No reviews for a long time backs this up too as well as other reviews stating the same since 2022 -

The quote was right in line with other quotes. The sales person appeared knowledgeable. The company we chose just responded quicker with cleaner financials. I should have known better and asked all three more questions.

I selected Pingo over a couple of very competitive offers because I preferred to work with a local team who would be reasonably pricing the work, competent in explaining the solution, and showing expertise. Once I selected Pingo, they were very transparent in setting up the permits, getting the materials and scheduling the installation. I wasn’t able to set everything up on the very tight schedule I originally targeted, but we found a mutually acceptable timeline. The work was done with quality - I’ve checked multiple points over the 1.5 years that passed since we turned the system on. This included a couple of times when I was on the roof to wash the panels; some electric work completed around the circuit breakers; and checking on the generation data many, many times. I had one question to the team a few months after the installation (about the password to access the inverter’s settings) - and it was handled very quickly & nicely. I certainly recommend Pingo as the solar panel installer in the area (LA - LB - Anaheim triangle).

I’m doing this review 7 months after my initial contact with quote for solar installation and EV home charger in Orange County. This has been a very long and at times frustrating process. I had initially selected another solar company, but they turned out to be too pushy, salesman for me. I then received bids from several companies and utilised EnergySage to compare and help me make sense of it all. I chose Pingo Solar as the system they suggested and their reputation per EnergySage was #1. Hayden was my project manager; he stuck with me & my obstacle laden process till completion, just last week. While it took a very long time, this was due to the utilities delays. Pingo did their part as quickly & efficiently as possible. They found a way to get my system up & going for EV charging months ahead of standard schedule which I really appreciated. There were parts of the process and equipment involved which I did not anticipate or understand. Hayden patiently explained. The Pingo crew has been around my newly purchased (Nov 19) home on and off for 7 months now. We got to face the challenges of COVID-19 together. They have always been tidy, respectful, and careful as appropriate re wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing. And, I now have an upgraded modern era main service panel, EV charger and solar system which so far has my house producing all my electricity needs plus some. I highly recommend Pingo Solar for their professionalism, ability to handle challenging situations well and absence of typical solar system salesmen tactics.

Pingo completed an installation on time and quoted budget. Smooth process. Little late writing the review as it was installed in June, but certainly want to review when things go well. With construction -- it is also the little things that matter. Like going to home depot and color matching the paint so that the conduit matched the house. i would certainly recommend them

Scott Ahn was very helpful and their bid was the lowest. We decided to go with a local company, but Pingo was my second choice and I'm sure they would have done a good job. Their equipment bid was excellent and I think their site survey process using a drone is very good.
