I am delighted to be generating most of, if not all of my electricity for over a year now. Other than the pipe on my exterior wall, the design blends in well with my house. I think the roof appeal is upgraded with the inclusion of these 24 panels. At this point the install seems to be very rugged we have had very heavy winds and some small hail and the system has withstood so far. I occasionally have concerns about the circuits in the backup panel since some of these loads were never tested prior to commissioning the system. I believe I understand the system well enough to keep it safe, but it would be nice to be confident that my furnace, water heater and dryer could potentially all be on simultaneously without damage to the system or anything else in my house. I am hopeful to be able to connect an external generator, part of the original plan, so that I can keep the battery charged in the event of a long term power outage and the absence of sun. ' not sure when SolarEdge will support this, but hopefully soon ! During the week of Christmas 2022, we experienced a period (more than 18 hours) where the power continued to cycle on and off which caused the system to continually switch between backup and grid. After a couple hours of this which I believe was not good for my existing appliances as well as the solar backup, Jason walked me through the process of cutting off the grid (stop the cycling) and go to battery only. It was less than -10 deg that night and this was a very dangerous condition. I appreciate that he stayed on the phone for well over an hour to assure that we had sufficient electricity for survival and we did not damage the system. If given the choice to get a system like this installed on my house again, I would say yes in a heartbeat.

How does one even begin to find a trustworthy solar contractor? We started with obtaining 5 bids from Enerysage-participating solar contractors. Some did not want to bother with a site visit, some were outrageously expensive, some were national and not regional and then there was Jason. He suggested a site visit, he came to our house when our schedule allowed it, he suggested several options and he taught us a lot, in mean A LOT, about equipment, sizing, quality, warranties. He himself states that he is not a sales person but his excitement and enthusiasm about solar is evident in all his actions, his demeanor. We simply trusted him and he proved to do the job with utmost integrity, transparency and even with some money back on a piece of equipment that he had acquired cheaper than initially quoted. We would have never known the difference. All in all it took 2 months from contract signing to final inspection and commissioning. Jason has twice provided a very professional quote at a very competitive price. In each case he was at least 30% lower with the same equipment than others in the area. His work is very solid and we've had only a few minor issues that he has resolved very quickly. He cleans up the area after the work and the end result is aesthetically nice looking and well performing. The only negative is that, because he is very busy, he is not always as responsive as I would like.
