Insight Solar

We contracted Insight (after months of research and quotes from many other companies, especially those big ones pushing PPAs and leases) in Sept. 2023. The system was installed mid-Feb. 2024 and was activated shortly after after inspection and approval. It's been smooth sailing the whole way though, between design, financing, installation, and support. Couldn't really ask for more.

We interviewed many and read all the energysage reviews. Those reviews were very accurate. Insight is not the cheapest, just as energysage said, but for this kind of project, other things were important to us: local work done by local crews had good reviews, good support and warranty (which we have not had to use but the fine print on the warranties was more reassuring then any of the others), local credit union with a strong commitment to solar projects. That is what finally led us to pick them. And I think out experience with them shows we made the right choice. Answered dozens of questions patiently, did the work in a very timely fashion (finished ahead of schedule) and the quality of the work was excellent. Every visible component seems carefully installed. The attention to finished details was excellent.

The rep that I worked with, Kayla Vestergaard, was absolutely amazing in helping me out to understand the whole solar panel business ranging from which panels and equipment are best for me to pricing to the installation process to just about everything. She went at great lengths to explain and re-explain whenever something seemed confusing. She worked with the banks to find the best plan for me. She went above and beyond. She was a great liaison with the other reps at Insight to catch them up to speed to get the job done.

Even though I ultimately decided to not go forward with the project, I was impressed with everyone associated with this company. Make no mistake: there is a LOT involved when adding a new solar generation system to your home. But the team at Insight Solar helped navigate the process from A to Z and were always available to answer questions along the way. Although the overall process is not a quick one and requires patience -- such is the nature of the beast -- they truly made it simple on our end. From the pre-design process to the installation itself, everything was handled professionally and courteously, and with high attention to detail. I would not hesitate to recommend considering Insight Solar to those looking for a top notch, comprehensive solution.
