Don't rush! Take your time learning more about the proposed systems and the panels and equipment you are buying. Solar is sizable investment, and you should never be pressured into a decision with hard sales tactics.
We are the most positive experience they've had with any construction or installation company that has worked on their home or business!
No, and the reason is simple - dealer fees. Most national solar lenders offer 1.99% or 2.99% loans, but the the installer has to pay the bank 30% or more of your project cost to buy down the interest rate to this level...

The Sunpath team is a group of industry veterans that take the time to install every system with the highest quality workmanship. We take pride in doing things right, not the speed of each installation or how many systems we install each year. Chet has over 13 years of experience working in solar in Oregon. His passion for renewable energy started early, with a project on solar energy for space exploration that he completed in college in 1995, Jake has installed thousands of systems and has managed large solar project teams in Illinois, California and Oregon. He prefers the smaller company culture we have developed at Sunpath and the extra time our team has to focus on quality workmanship. Heather is a dynamic, fun and creative marketing professional who has helped companies large and small get the word out about their products and services. Previously she ran the marketing department for a large national theater company before focusing her skills on small businesses and non-profits in Oregon.

Low pressure, highly qualified

We found Sunpath Solar through the Energy Trust of Oregon. Unlike many other solar companies, they did not pressure us to answer within a certain time frame. They answered all of our questions promptly, then gave us the time we needed to do our own research and come to our decision. Once we'd decided to go with Sunpath, they were professional, responsive, and highly knowledgeable. They helped walk us through the steps not only for the installation, but also for the permits, apps, and loan. Highly recommend.

How Solar Should Be

From my first interaction, Chet and SunPath have been an absolute pleasure to work with. I reached out to several companies initially, but soon realized how many have become national, corporate, sales-oriented entities. It was the complete opposite from Chet and SunPath...local, attentive, customer-oriented. Responsiveness and communication were top-notch. The installers were courteous and extra careful with my brand new metal roof on which the panels were installed. I am planning to use them again and give my whole-hearted recommendation to anyone looking to offset the shocking (get it?) rise in electricity costs in Portland-Metro area.

Nice people who know what they're doing

I knew I wanted to do business with Chet soon after meeting him. He came to my property where I wanted solar and was all over it. He got out a ladder, got up on the roof with me and produced a device that measured the amount of solar energy at various locations. Soon, he had done a pretty thorough analysis of what was possible. I also just liked him. He wasn't a money grubber, just wanted to do a good job and get paid.

Great Experience

Estimate was fast. They listened to my concerns and made adjustments to the plan. Work was scheduled a couple weeks out but it was worth it. I've been satisfied with the result.

Great experience end-to-end

We're very happy with Sunpath! A solar project is complex, and not everything always goes exactly as initially planned. What matters to me is how the contractor reacts in this case, and Sunpath excelled! Our project had 3 arrays installed on 2 separate roofs, and had the electrical panel replaced at the same time. From signing to turning on, it took 47 days. There were two hickups on the way, which Sunpath had to work around. First, the connection to the electrical panel could not be done as planned (had to do line side tap vs. through breakers on the load side), so the permit had to be updated and re-approved. This coincided with a weeklong shutdown of the permitting office due to software upgrades, so we had some delay there. The second issue was that the contractor replacing the electrical panel made some mistakes, and hence we didn't pass the inspection. Sunpath reacted lightning fast - failed inspection Monday, contractors were out again Wednesday, passed 2nd inspection Thursday. Sunpath is a smaller company, you deal with the owners directly - a great plus. I couldn't be happier with them and would absolutely go with them again. They were also the only company that actually came out and did measurements on our roof, everybody else just used satellite images. Sunpath gives a 5 year production guarantee (if the system produces less than their estimate, they pay for the difference in power that you had to buy), plus 10 year workmanship warranty. Main steps for a solar install (all done by Sunpath for us): Design system, send plans to city Apply for net metering with PGE (I signed via docusign) City approves plans (--> permit) Sunpath installs and connects to electrical panel City inspection Once inspection is passed, PGE comes out to swap out electrical meter --> operating permit Now you can turn the system on!

Sunpath is a great local company we trust, providing a superior product and quality service!

We are so happy we discovered Sunpath through working with Energy Sage! Sunpath has been awesome from start to install to follow-up. Communication was always timely and on target. We trusted the people we worked with and were happy they were local to Portland, OR. The site visit allowed for more solar panels to give us very high efficiency!. The quality of the REC panels and the IQ8 micro inverters was an important selling point for us. We cannot recommend Sunpath highly enough!
